Vigouroots Mission Statement

Vigouroots’ mission is to help and inspire people who want to improve their overall health and well being. Through research over many years, I have analysed both traditional and cutting edge information that has inspired me to find a way to help myself and others to live with healthy roots and vigour! When our roots are healthy, we are grounded, connected to our environments and living in harmony with those around us.

There is mounting evidence that tells us that a healthy digestive system has profound effects on overall health and well being. At the cellular level, the health and the stability of the body and all its complex processes are dependent on its environment. What we feed ourselves, both physically and mentally, creates our inner environments in which our cells react to, which in turn determines our physical health, our behaviour, emotions and reactions.

Recent research shows us that as well as our brain, our heart and gut contain a network of neurons and are thus brains unto themselves. In most Western modern societies, we function predominantly using our brain intelligence, but when the brain, gut and heart are understood and harmonise with each other, magic can happen!

In 2019 I discovered ‘Jun Tea’ which is very similar to Kombucha – a cold drink fermented with live cultures, containing health-promoting bacteria, yeasts, enzymes & acids. I began my fermenting journey making Kombucha-Jun tea with the utmost care – fell in love with it! I love to see people surprised by its pleasantness and benefit from its health-altering activity . It’s refreshing, thirst quenching and tasty – A perfect treat to kick start the day, break-a-fast and enjoyed from a wine glass in the evening as a non-alcoholic alternative (contains very low levels of alcohol).

I then delved into making Sauerkraut & Kimchi. I experimented with adding medicinal herbs as they act as brilliant prebiotcs – food for the ‘good’ bacteria – as well as having amazing, well known health benefits for people! I feel now the combinations are spot on and the feedback from customers supports that which is lovely! I will continue to make raw, unpasteurised ferments with the best ingredients to maximise flavour and the quality of the live cultures present.

Listen to your heart, go with your gut feelings. Feed yourself well, grow sturdy roots and live life with vigour!

A bit about me..

In my 20’s I started a journey. I started to delve into the deeper workings of society, widening my knowledge and growing consciousness through research and re-wilding. My daughter was born in my later 20’s which led my research into health, pharmaceuticals and natural medicines. I knew I had opened a can of worms, so to speak! I was gradually discovering the importance of health, the safety and effectiveness of natural medicines and that physical issues can be largely a consequence of emotional issues.

I researched everything that came up and started to connect with nature. In my spare time I would research as much as I could on alternative medicines, physical health, mental health and nutrition. I was studying a degree which included psychology, sociology, environmental science and politics. This was the start of my intense personal and spiritual development journey.

I have since been busy trying out experiencing different roles, completing courses and practising new skills. Learning is a life-long process and there can’t be too much of it! My background is in Catering, I have been a chef for most of my working life. Being able to now utilise those skills to create healthy food and drinks is a welcome and fun change. I have been making and experimenting with ferments and free-from sweet treats for a long time and it’s all too good not to share!

As well as Catering, I am also certified in Horticulture, Reiki, Thai Reflexology, Personal Training and have more courses on the slow-burner. As well as creating ferments & treats, I also have a passion for giving treatments and helping people to reach a place of peace and balance.

If you have any questions and feel called to do so, get in touch for a chat.

Love and Blessings,
Michelle
